Bjorn Borg was born in Sweden on June 6, 1956. He grew up just outside of Stockholm, in a town called Sodertalje. When Bjorn was 8 years old, his father won a ping pong tournament and the first prize was a tennis racket. He gave the racket to Bjorn. The next day Bjorn started to hit tennis balls against his garage door. Besides tennis, Bjorn also played ice-hockey. Apparently he could have become a great hockey player too. When Bjorn was 12, he managed to hit a few balls with Percy Rosberg, an established tennis coach at the SALK tennis club in Stockholm. Percy liked what he saw, and invited Bjorn to come and practice with him at SALK. The rest is history. Today Bjorn lives just outside of Stockholm, Sweden.
